Tiel is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, 'the Rotterdam of the Middle Ages'. In the new permanent exhibition about Tiel in the Middle Ages we tell this story by means of an immersive intro show. We do so by bringing a large, recycled model of the city to life with video mapping and projection. While a voice-over takes you through time in 5 minutes, we visualize the story on the model and the back walls.

 This is not only an example of immersive exhibition design, but also an example of 'exhibit upcycling'. By incorporating existing elements, we reduce the ecological footprint and reduce costs.
